What does it fund?
New or existing workforce training and development programs and training curriculum for zero-emission vehicle technologies within California-based, accredited, non-profit adult education and vocational schools.
What are the possible incentive amounts?
A total of $1.5 million in grant funding was initially available to implement the Project. While applicants could request the full amount, CARB sought to fund multiple grantees through the solicitation. CARB was able to acquire an additional $500,000, making it possible to fully fund the two selected projects.
Who was eligible for funds?
California-based, accredited, non-profit adult education or vocational school institutions, and other California-based non-profit education and workforce training entities.

The project directly supports the unique needs of priority populations and benefits accredited adult education and vocational school training programs in or serving Assembly Bill 1550 low-income and Senate Bill 535 priority populations by providing workforce and job training, skill development, and professional development to allow for clean transportation job readiness and placement.

Eligible entities were able to apply through a competitive statewide solicitation. The solicitation closed on October 27, 2023.
