2024 South Coast PM2.5 Plan
On June 27 2024, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) will consider adoption of the South Coast Air Basin Attainment Plan for the 2012 Annual PM2.5 Standard (2024 South Coast PM2.5 Plan). The 2024 South Coast PM2.5 Plan, together with the CARB Staff Report, demonstrates that the South Coast Air Basin meets the Clean Air Act requirements as a serious nonattainment area requesting an attainment date extension for the 12 micrograms per cubic meter annual fine particulate matter (PM2.5) standard. The South Coast Air Quality Management District (District) will consider the 2024 South Coast PM2.5 Plan on June 7, 2024. If the District and CARB Board both adopt the 2024 South Coast PM2.5 Plan, CARB will submit it and the relevant portions of the CARB Staff Report to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for inclusion in the California State Implementation Plan.
