Light-Duty Vehicles
Percentages for state share of U.S. light-duty vehicle registrations is calculated using data from the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) report “NADA DATA 2023 Annual Financial Profile of America’s Franchised New-Car Dealerships," map "New-Vehicle Registrations by State, 2023." Registrations for Washington D.C. are not included in this report but Washington D.C. has the legal and legislative authority to adopt California’s vehicle standards.
Heavy-Duty Vehicles
Percentages for state share of U.S. heavy-duty vehicle registered is calculated using data ‘Trucks’ and ‘Buses’ from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) report “STATE MOTOR-VEHICLE REGISTRATIONS – 2022 ” table “MV-1.”
