DIAMOND BAR - On Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, the Air Resources Board will announce the winner of the CoolCalifornia City Challenge (https://coolclimate.berkeley.edu/challenge/index.php?type=login), a statewide competition that encourages local communities to make a difference by reducing their carbon footprints. The winning city will earn the prestigious title, “Coolest California City,” gaining bragging rights, recognition and a cash award. The second and third runner-up cities will be named a “Cool California City.” Cities participating this year included Arcata, Burlingame, Chula Vista, Claremont, Corona, Mission Viejo, Long Beach, Lynwood, Rancho Cucamonga and Riverside.
