California has made significant progress to reduce our exposure to harmful air pollutants, the result of regulations and programs based on sound science. These achievements reflect a collective and bipartisan effort over the past half century that involves the Legislature, air districts, regulated industries and the public. There is far more work to be done. CARB stands ready as it enters its next 50 years to build on this strong environmental legacy and ensure that all Californians will breathe clean air.
