Background
California Air Resources Board (CARB) staff started air monitoring near the Inglewood Oil Field (IOF) in June 2023 as part of the Study of Neighborhood Air near Petroleum Sources (SNAPS) program, and plan to conclude air monitoring in early 2025. Air quality has been measured at two stationary trailers, one located west of the IOF (Marycrest Manor from June-August 2023, then at West Los Angeles College), with the second on the eastern edge of the IOF near Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area. The two stationary sites have been supplemented by periodic mobile monitoring in neighborhoods surrounding the IOF.
